Biography:

Jianfeng Zhan received the Ph.D. degree in 2002 from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He joined the National Intelligence Center of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July, 2002. He is a doctoral supervisor since October, 2010, and a professor since September, 2012. He is the director of Center for Advanced Computer Systems, the chair of the International Open Benchmark Council (BenchCouncil) committee, the chair of Special Committee on Computing Benchmarks of Chinese Society for Measurement, the founding editor of BenchCouncil Transactions on Benchmarks, Standards and Evaluations, and IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems Associate Editor. He has won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research area:

1) Unified abstraction for emerging workloads such as big data and artificial intelligence, machine learning compilers based on unified abstraction, big data systems and architecture research; 

2) Open source computer systems and open source chips; 

3) Basic theories, methods and tools of benchmark science and engineering.
